The Ministry of Economics, Labor and Housing has initiated InvestBW as the largest industry-open investment and innovation support program in the history of Baden-Württemberg. Within the program for investment and innovation projects, a total amount of 300 million euros in funding will be made available. Update:There is now another new open-topic funding call until 15.01.24.
The program
The programme currently (as of 24.10.23) focuses on innovation, and funding for investment projects has largely been discontinued. (Originally, the programme was completely open to all technologies, but was changed to a new model at the end of 2021.) Currently, you can apply for funding calls. These are mostly thematic, but there may also be open calls. There is now another new open-topic funding call until 15.01.24.
In the area of innovation funding, companies from Baden-Württemberg are eligible to apply, in the case of collaborative projects also in cooperation with research institutions, universities and other companies. The projects must be aimed at developing new products, services, business models and business processes and can be funded with up to 1 million euros for individual projects and 3 million euros for collaborative projects. Funding rates of up to 45% are possible.
Eligible costs are personnel expenses, external services and a flat-rate overhead surcharge. In justified individual cases, research institutions can also receive funding for material expenses and travel costs.
In the third funding phase, the application procedure was modified somewhat. First of all, outlines are to be submitted to the project management organisation by 15.01.2024. Only when the projects have been selected for application is an application to be prepared.
