By establishing a ZIM network, we are bringing together expertise and driving forward innovations and technologies in the field of hydrogen and its cryogenic applications, including storage, transportation and use.
Become part of the innovation and join the KryoH2 network.
The aim of the BMWK-funded ZIM cooperation networks is to generate, cooperate, apply for and support funded R&D projects.
Your wishes, needs and challenges on the subject of cryogenic hydrogen form the basis for cooperation in CryoH2. You can therefore play an active role in shaping the content of the network and actively promote the possibilities for the application of hydrogen.
Among other things, we want to work with you and other partners from industry and research to develop solutions for the following approaches:
Hydrogen is the energy carrier of the climate-neutral future. Two main methods are used to store it: High-pressure storage (e.g. p = 700 bar) and cryogenic storage (T < -253°C or 20 K; p < 5 bar).
To date, high-pressure storage has usually been the method of choice. This is mainly due to the two major weaknesses of liquefied hydrogen:
Despite these disadvantages, there are still applications such as aerospace and some truck manufacturers that rely on liquid hydrogen. The main reason for this is the high energy density of liquid hydrogen (70 kg/m3), which is significantly higher than the energy density of high-pressure hydrogen (40 kg/m3).
The CryoH2 network will focus on LH2 as a hydrogen storage method and transportation utilisation in particular address the weaknesses mentioned above.
Partners from science and industry work together in the network. They complement each other's expertise in order to develop innovative products, processes or services and work out utilization concepts. The most important goal is therefore to bring together relevant players from industry and research and to find development partners and potential users.
The basis of the cooperation is the joint idea for the development and utilization of innovative products, processes or technical services in a technologically regionally oriented network or along a value chain (Source: https://www.zim.de/ZIM/Navigation/DE/Meta/Englisch/englisch.html).
We place your goals and projects in the context of the network. In concrete terms, this means that we work with you to analyse your current company situation: How have R&D projects been implemented to date? What goals have you set yourself and how can you realise them in the context of the network and the current economic situation?
Together we analyse the industry and market for your goals: We analyse the state of the art, examine patents, trademarks and property rights and coordinate the next steps with potential new partners from the network.
We coordinate the cooperation with the network partners for you.
We find suitable synergies in the network and coordinate the cooperation with your new partners.
We organise the exchange between the partners and form topic-specific working groups. We provide suitable information platforms and promote dialogue and cooperation, for example through regular network and working group meetings (online and/or in person).
Together with you, we analyse the financial feasibility of your projects. In doing so, we take into account possible funding measures, for example the ZIM programme as well as calls for proposals from the EU, the federal ministries and the funding programmes of the federal states.
Together we identify other possible partners outside the ZIM network: whether institutions, companies or science - we establish contact for you and support you in building relationships.
EurA takes over the creation of a website for the network and develops a logo and flyer together with professionals. We represent the network at events such as conferences and trade fairs and take care of the network's entire public image.
The network management is carried out by EurA AG, a Europe-wide technology and innovation consultancy.
We draw on our experience from initiating and supporting more than 130 co-operation networks and supporting more than 2000 companies, which we help to successfully place their products, processes or services on the market.
Our services for the network are supported by the ZIM (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs) funding programme of the BMWK (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection).
A central aspect is the development of subsidised projects. The network management provides support from the idea, the selection of the appropriate funding programme, the project application as well as supervision & controlling during the project term. This also includes the search for possible cooperation partners, technology providers and communication with the funding body to reduce the administrative workload.
Membership of a network opens up a wide range of opportunities from which you can benefit. Utilise potential, create synergies and drive forward the development of cryogenic hydrogen as a storage method together with the network partners. I would be happy to answer your questions in a personal meeting.
If you are interested, please give me a call or send me an e-mail.
Dr Hohmann has many years of management experience in industry, particularly in the operational and strategic business of medium-sized manufacturing companies with group ties. Before joining EurA AG, he was Managing Director of two companies in the hydrogen sector, where he has a broad network and extensive experience.
Since 2014, he has been working very successfully for EurA AG as a network manager, e.g. in the "Future Storage - Storage Technologies for the Energy Transition" and in the international Energy Innovation Europe (EIE) network focussing on "Fuel Cells and Hydrogen" as well as in the international hydrogen networks HyEcon and HyWaste.
Thanks to his many years of experience in the field of cooperation networks, Dr Hohmann knows what is important for successful management and manages a number of hydrogen-related companies, working groups, projects and topics. He is the longstanding head of the Industrial Advisory Board in the EU project Sintbat.
