More than 1,500 companies apply per deadline in the SME Instrument to boost their market and optimisation activities. This has made the SME Instrument one of the most competitive support programs worldwide.
Those who are considered by the evaluators to be among the most innovative and promising applicants will be invited to Brussels. Here the companies can show how innovative they and their products are. A jury with a strong investment focus will then decide who will receive the funding of up to 2.5 million euros and optionally the chance of an additional 15 million euros in equity capital.
Only about 10% of the candidates will be invited to this interview. We are thus all the more pleased that now 7 of our clients are able to take the chance to pitch in Brussels. It is not only the product that plays a role. The jury has to be convinced that the company can be successful in the market launch and has the necessary expertise.
