The EIC officially starts on the 18th March 2021!

With an opening ceremony on 18th and 19th March 2021, the European Innovation Council (EIC) will be officially launched and becomes one of the major innovations of Horizon Europe. With a budget of 10 billion € for the period 2021-2027, the EIC represents the most ambitious European innovation initiative.

The EIC aims to identify, implement and disseminate breakthrough technologies and disruptive innovations and to support start-ups, SMEs and research teams in addressing these challenges.

A particular focus is on solutions that contribute to the goals of the European Green Deal and the Recovery Plan for Europe.

 

During this two-day ceremony, many details of the initiative will be presented once again and the first funding calls will be published. The full programme can be found on the official website of the European Commission.
