Creativity as the key to innovative ideas and innovations

Creativity is the optimal tool for breaking down routines, stimulating the imagination and allowing extraordinary, unique ideas and innovations to emerge.

Idea generation is a process that only happens by chance in very few cases. It is more likely to succeed if you consciously decide to develop new thoughts and ideas, either alone or as a group. The use of creativity techniques is particularly suitable for triggering the idea generation process. This is because creative thinking enables new ideas to emerge that would not have come up at all using conventional methods of logical thinking, or would have been directly linked to attributes such as "unrealistic" or "not promising" and sorted out.

The use of creativity and creativity techniques is about consciously releasing participants from their daily routines, breaking up routines and actively suppressing immediate judgment. Creativity is a thought process that, through special creativity techniques and associated impulses and associations, leads to extraordinary, unique and forward-looking ideas and innovations. For example, personal associations with colors and images, specific ways of thinking, playfully generated word combinations, or time pressure are used to create connections that have not existed in this way before. Whether the idea works is initially irrelevant in the process of brainstorming. This aspect becomes relevant in the course of concretization and realization.

The two terms "creativity" and "innovation" are often mistakenly used as synonyms or even confused. However, there are clear differences in the meaning of the two terms. In short, creativity means having ideas, innovation means realizing them successfully. Innovation is the successful realization and implementation of innovations, inventions and ideas. It is the result of a process and problem solvers. With the word creativity, the attention is rather on the creation process or the development.

The most important factor of creativity is the human being. Because creativity cannot simply be programmed and taken over by technology. Exceptional and groundbreaking ideas that move you forward and create a competitive advantage for your company come from your company itself - from your employees. In addition to using creativity techniques, it is recommended to create a general environment that encourages new ideas to emerge. An environment that allows enough time and space for experimentation and in which employees are also allowed to fail with their ideas from time to time. Natural enemies of creativity must be avoided. These include external factors such as time or success pressure, stress, or the fear of making mistakes.

More and more companies are developing an increasing interest in promoting creative thinking among their employees. You too can become active! Contact us for individual consultation and benefit from the power of creativity to develop innovative ideas!
