The Bioeconomy Innovation and Investment Program (BIPL BW) of the State of Baden-Württemberg aims to promote innovation and investment in the field of bioeconomy in rural regions. It was launched on February 28, 2019, with an initial budget of 100 million euros per year. As of now, further applications for the BIPL BW - Innovation funding line can be submitted until 15 September 2022.
BIPL BW focuses on innovative, environmentally friendly technologies, methods and processes that strengthen the circular bioeconomy. In addition to funding, BIPL BW provides assistance in networking, information and consulting.
The aim of BIPL BW is to promote innovation and investment in new solutions for the production and processing of renewable raw materials and products in rural areas. To achieve this goal, the program supports projects that are based on the use of bio-based resources and contribute to the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy. Funding priorities of BIPL BW are:
The funds come from the "Zukunftsland BW - Stärker aus der Krise" reserve and are intended to make effective contributions to the sustainability and climate protection goals of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Within the framework of investment projects, individual company projects are funded with up to 80 percent of the eligible project costs, which advance the establishment of a sustainable cycle-oriented bioeconomy in Baden-Württemberg and have lighthouse character as innovative projects.
