The use of autonomous systems is seen by experts as a technical revolution due to its disruptive potential. Not only will the associated change take place on the road or railway, but it will also be seen in the form of autonomous systems (robots, flying drones, and water drones), for inspections, monitoring critical infrastructure, or in production and logistics.
Due to their special characteristics, these systems will bring fundamental changes to the economy and society. Already today, technologies in computer vision, sensors, robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, control engineering and validation of autonomous systems are well advanced and allow different levels of autonomy for specific applications. It is now time to keep a close eye on the developments, possibilities, and implications of autonomous systems.
In the USAI network (Unmanned Systems for Autonomous Inspection), the development of autonomous systems in higher technology maturity levels (TRL) in aeronautical and marine engineering is initiated in cooperation between companies as well as research institutions as scientific partners. The partners’ expertise lies in the fields of robotics, sensor technology, validation of AI, marine technology, inspection using aerial drones, renewable energies, artificial intelligence, and aviation.
Current development priorities can be found here.
USAI helps in the realisation of new products, especially for highly distinguished small and medium enterprises from the European area, which are active as manufacturers and developers of tailor-made, customer-specific solutions.
The USAI network actively supports participants in their innovation processes. As a member of USAI, you are part of an expert platform and benefit from EurA's years of experience in innovation management. This includes knowledge exchange with users, project idea discussions, assembling project consortia, and preparation of project outlines and funding applications.
All partners' ideas are coordinated, prioritised, and evaluated in terms of market potential within the network. Due to the network’s international setup, acquiring and forming contacts across industries and technologies in France, Switzerland and Denmark is easily achievable.
